Product Owner at Look Up Geoscience
Lou: From the Thrill of Adventure to a Passion for Earth’s Depths
As a child, Lou dreamed of becoming a foreign correspondent. “I wanted to travel to the farthest corners of the world, to be at the heart of the stories that matter!” Her insatiable curiosity, her drive to understand other cultures, histories, and realities, has always fueled her.

Over the years, her passion for exploring unknown lands led her even further: to travel through time. To delve into the deep history of the Earth, perhaps to better understand the story of humanity. So, she naturally enrolled at the University of Clermont-Ferrand, earning a degree in geology. Her frequent hikes among the volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys only deepened her thirst for knowledge. Lou continued her academic journey in Montpellier, specializing in geological reservoirs. She kept moving backward in time, building on her early insights to better grasp the natural world around her.
A Mentor Who Made a Difference
Her internship supervisor in geoscience at Total was a generous man who encouraged her and affirmed her career choices. He took the time to guide her, ensuring her professional path aligned with her skills, personality, and values, a model she hopes to emulate with future graduates.
A Defining Experience
Participating in the Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) program of the AAPG was a turning point in her academic life. Geoscience students from around the world competed for scholarships for their departments. Lou found real fulfillment and discovered confidence she didn’t know she had. Geosciences, and the multicultural environment, were a perfect fit.
A Diverse Career Path
Lou worked at SLB on the Techlog Wellbore Software Platform, focusing on its development, testing, and quality control. She then moved to Imageau as a Hydrogeology Manager, and later added Product Owner at Sopra Steria to her resume. For four years, she was fully immersed in team management, leading projects from start to finish. But geology called her back… and she talked to her friend Aloïse Chabbert, Product Manager at Look Up Geoscience, who encouraged her to join the growing team. A perfect match, and a masterstroke for Look Up
The Journey Continues
Lou loves meeting new people, discovering new places, and immersing herself in worlds unlike her own. She nurtures her passion for escape through reading, too. “To read is to travel; to travel is to read,” as Victor Hugo said. A motto that suits her perfectly. Geoscience.
