Software engineer at Look Up Geoscience

🚀 New talent on board
Imagine a developer, inspired by the universe of video games, who transforms multi-physical data into an interactive maps. Welcome to the Florian Carnac’s world, software engineer!
It all started with a screen. Not just any screen: the one of a video game, where every pixel counts and where the user experience reigns supreme. A graduate of the Imagina Master’s program in Montpellier, Florian mastered digital imaging, transforming it into a tool as precise as it is creative. During his internship at C4W, working on dental image processing, he took his first formative professional steps and discovered that code can make the invisible visible.
In 2019, Florian joined Eliis as a Software Engineer, developing 2D and 3D seismic image analysis features. Geosciences quickly became his playground: complex data, diverse visualizations and real-world challenges. For four and a half years, he dove deep into the earth’s digital layers to make the subsurface more understandable.
Next, he took the role of Technical Lead at SLB, contributing to Techlog software, a tool designed to consolidate well data and ease geological analysis. For two years, he led teams, built tools for geoscientists, and confirmed a key principe: that the best software is the one that simplifies its user’s life.
Today, Florian has joined the Look Up Geoscience adventure, and we couldn’t be prouder!
Outside of work, you might catch him tinkering with a bike, strumming a guitar, designing a video game, coding a new app, or climbing a boulder. From geoscience data to guitar chords, Florian knows how to bring rhythm and energy to every challenge!
